In which file format am I supposed to send the models?

In the first instance the file format should be .stl or .obj. These are compatible with most of the 3D-programs.

How precisely can you print?

Printing resolution is 0.01-0.25mm using our best printers.

How large parts can be printed?

The size of a singular part depends of the machine's printing dimensions. Our printer for industrial level needs, Raise 3D N2 PLUS has the printing dimensions of 300mm x 300mm x 600mm.

What are the payment methods?

Usual method is billing with 14 days of payment time. We also accept cash, debit or credit cards, and PayPal. Billing is taken care of by OP Bank.

Is it possible to postpone due date of payment?

Yes it is! If customer tells us in advance they need more time it should be possible.

Can I pay with instalment?

Yes you can. Instalments are possible when your purchase is at least 100€ or when you use Checkout.

If I order more products, will it get cheaper?

Yes it will. When purchasing over 40 units/products the price per unit will be calculated off using printing machine refill rate.

How big can the model/print be?

The maximum dimensions for a single print are 60cm x 30cm x 30cm. Big prints can be dismantled into smaller models and then be connected again after printing. The biggest print made from parts in our store has been 200cm x 200cm x 350cm.

What kinds of products can be printed?

Almost everything that isn't against the law can be printed.

Is 3D printing plastic parts expensive?

3D printing plastic is cheaper and smarter in many ways compared to mould method or mechanization. The cost effectiveness of 3D printing is a combination of flexibility, pace and low risk level of production. Even if price per unit would be higher compared to injection molding, for example, big savings can be made 3D printing when big initial investments and storage costs aren't relevant. The amount of units made can be precisely the amount needed when printing.

Are the products durable?

Printed items are mechanically very durable and also tolerate many chemicals.

How fast can be my purchases be delivered?

The actual 3D printing process always takes its own time, which depends on, for example, the size of the piece and the quality of the design. Considering the entire delivery process, 3D printing is generally a very quick way to make pieces. The 3D printing process does not require any other tools, so it is really quick to get started and the first copies can be used or sold quickly. We at Viikinkikone deliver products to the customer in up to three days and a maximum of a week. The speed of 3D printing is further enhanced by the fact that 3D printing can be used to print finished material that can be finished directly. 

Is 3D-printing suitable for serial production?

Many people might still have the opinion of 3D-printing to be more suitable for making prototypes. This, however, was the truth about 10 years ago. Nowadays bigger items can be made considering cost efficiency. Rarely it is thought, that it's cost efficient to print thousands of small plastic parts.
When making large amounts units it is recommended to calculate (at us in Viikinkikone) a price for also the option of 3D-printing the parts.

What kinds of plastic parts would be convenient to print?

With our FDM-technique (fused filament fabrication) almost any kind of shapes can be made. When 3D printing, the kinds of products that cannot normally be factory made can still be 3D printed without increase in costs. Only size and construction strength can set certain sorts of limits to producing. This means that complexity of the product doesn't actually cost anything - unlike in traditional factory used methods where simplicity is the best choice.

It could be said, that as rule of thumb, the smaller each plastic product is the more profitable it usually is to 3D print it. Also storage costs can be avoided.
